MAKE UP FOR EVER MUFE Water Blend Foundation Y245, R250, R300 Swatch + Review

MAKE UP FOR EVER will be releasing their reformulated Face & Body Foundation, known as the Water Blend Foundation, in twenty different shades. The Water Blend Foundation claims to be a buildable, lightweight formula that will deliver a flawless, dewy, and even finish.

Eighty percent of the formula is made of purified water that is infused with vitamin B5 that will in turn provide hydration and improve skin elasticity with continued use. The Water Blend Foundation contains coated micro-fine pigments that will improve natural skin and color payoff.

At first use: I made sure to shake the bottle of foundation really well as I can easily see the separation in the tube. When I applied the Water Blend Foundation it instantaneously felt cooling on my skin. I cannot remember ever feeling any kind of sensation during foundation application – be it alone a soothing and cooling sensation – that I did with this. The first pump and distribution of this product was very sheer, soothing, and dried well (without streaks). I went in for more coverage with a second pump and was pleased with the there-but-not-there light-weight, silky coverage that did not interrupt the first application on my skin. This product built up quite nicely and evenly.

About my oily skin: I used this foundation with my routine oil-free moisturizer, a mattifying lotion, and the MUFE Step 1 Mattifying Primer on different occasions. I loved how angelic and dewy this appeared on my skin (at most) for three hours. The water-gel texture in this product feels amazing upon application and the hydrating properties are very well heaven sent for dry or normal skin types throughout the day.

Below are swatches (one coat) under direct sunlight:
Photo above are two pumps of the Water Blend Foundation in shade R300.

At closing: I think this foundation will work particularly well for dry and normal skin types due to the hydrating properties. Combo to oily skin types may need to apply the best primer or mattifying lotion that one is already familiar with to work around the hydrating formula. MAKE UP FOR EVER is known to have the best foundations in the market providing  a flawless finish in front of cameras and in real life. I do plan on using this foundation as it captures beautifully.

This product will retail for $43 and will officially release this Friday, July 8th online here. Sephora will carry this online July 22nd and in-store August 5th.

  2. This looks gorgeous on you! I didn’t realize this was the “new” version of the Face and Body – I think Kathleen Lights always raves about that one. I will probably pass since I have oily skin.
