Violet Voss Cosmetics recently teamed up with rising YT beauty-guru star, Laura Lee, to share a collection of twenty beautifully picked eyeshadows Laura chose herself. The goal of this palette was to achieve an eyeshadow palette that offered a cohesive selection of colors that can suit any skin tone. With that being said – I have been using this palette for a little over two weeks now and admit that this Violet Voss palette is my favorite of the three palettes Violet Voss has released as of yet. I have posted about the Holy Grail palette here and the Drenched Metal palette here.
The selection of colors in this palette are indeed easy to pick out for a desired look. There are twenty shadows: ten are matte and the other ten are of a foiled or shimmer finish. The matte shadows are smooth and I think that the foiled shadows are a beautiful topper to the mattes. I have used the foiled shadows alone for a simple pop of color on my lids. I particularly love the shades Hissy Fit (bronze foiled shadow) and Fleeky (gold foiled shadow) alone. To have a collection or palette of just these foiled finished shadows would be amazing.
Above are swatches under direct sunlight: top row are the first two rows from the palette starting left to right and likewise for the remaining two bottom rows of the palette.
If you are in the market for a selection of mostly warm-toned shadows and feel overwhelmed with palettes that contain too much where we can sometimes feel stumped as to where to begin – I think this palette is a no-fuss. The shade Lou (matte black) works well when wet for eyeliner (I learned after the above pictorial). This palette retails for $45. Have a great day or night from Los Angeles!
Much love, Gigi
