Makeup Geek x Kathleen Lights Highlighter Palette Swatch + Thoughts

Hi there! I am an avid fan of MUG duo chrome eyeshadows and when I first saw the release of the trio highlighter palette in collaboration with You Tube Beauty Guru Kathleen Lights – all I thought about was sparkle. When sparkle is involved I seemingly become a fly going straight into a light trap. The design of the pans did not really dive me right into purchase and as the days went on – I felt more and more haunted by the that thing I did not buy. So here we are with the masculine design but such the opposite: a delicate and creamy formula that I am happy to report is worth it. The pans are huge, the shades spectacular, and I am very eager to dip the brush into the pan design that I… I just do not fancy. You will be seeing swatches of the Makeup Geek x Kathleen Lights Highlighter Palette shortly.

Above are swatches in direct sunlight.

Above a short video clip so to grasp a better picture of the highlighters in action. Please excuse the indents on my arm as I was carrying my son before the swatches.

I really do enjoy the formula in these highlighters. Starlight is my favorite and adds an extra umph when used with the other two shades. The trio palette retails for $39 and with US shipping it totaled to about $46. I think the highlighters remind me somewhat of The Balm Manizer sisters particularly in Cindy-Lou (compare Starlight) and Betty-Lou (compare Nightlight). I recommend this product if you do not own any of the Manizer Sisters.

Much love, Gigi

  1. I worry that these shades would be too dark for me. They seem to capture the light pretty well though, and I’m happy to hear the formula is nice. The shipping cost is what deters me right now.
