Hi there! I was sent two new products from Maybelline to try and share with you. Maybelline’s Dream Cushion Foundation and Dream Brightening Creamy Concealer show much promise. I gave them a try last night and captured a few photos that you will be seeing shortly as well as swatches of the Maybelline Dream Cushion Foundation in Porcelain, Ivory, Classic Ivory, Warm Nude, True Beige, Medium Beige, Caramel and Dream Brightening Creamy Concealer Fair, Light, Light/Medium, Medium, Medium/Deep, and Deep.
Descriptions of the two products:
- The new Maybelline New York Dream Cushion is a liquid foundation that delivers complete luminous coverage in a take-anywhere cushion. Liquid makeup goes mobile in Maybelline’s new unique, portable compact which provides a built-in cushion for effortless application anytime, anywhere. Just press the puff applicator onto the cushion, tap foundation onto skin for perfectly complete coverage. The ease of the puff applicator, combined with the incredibly lightweight liquid foundation melts onto skin creating a smooth, fresh glow in seconds. Dream Cushion will be available in mass market retailers beginning January 2017 at a suggested retail price of $15.99 in 8 skin-perfecting shades.
The new Maybelline New York Dream Brightening Creamy Concealer blends easily to instantly brighten dark circles, cover imperfections and smooth uneven skin tone. The creamy formula creates an awakened eye look in just one easy glide using light-reflecting pearls. The larger concealer tip allows spot-on application, while the crayon side can easily canvas a larger area of skin. The innovative formula provides medium to full coverage that blends easily and won’t cake on, with a delicate finish. The Dream Brightening Creamy Concealer will be available in mass market retailers beginning January 2017 at a suggested retail price of $7.99 in 6 brightening shades.
First impressions: youthful, soft, lightweight. Can you tell that my nose is red? I am extremely sick with a cold. I used Dream Brightening Concealer in shade Medium all over both nostrils that are inflamed/ red and blended with a damp beauty sponge. This cream concealer carries some glitter particles due to the light-reflecting pearls. I am impressed with the coverage and how easily this product blended and covered my, well, sickness. I used shade 20 Light beneath the eyes and you can see how well it brightens or covers in the right picture as my upper eye lid is bare.
I used shade 40 True Beige in the Dream Cushion Foundation. I used the applicator that came with the product initially to pick up and dab around areas of my face I wanted more or specific coverage in. The coverage is lightweight, buildable, medium to full coverage. Although I am not a fan of the applicator which did do the job in distributing the foundation – I feel it soaked up much of the product as to where a brush or sponge would not. The Dream Cushion is portable or on-the-go creation, meant to throw into your makeup bag and freshen up during the day. I did feel fresh or less like death (chuckles) and the idea of travel and touch up is convenient – however the applicator would be a one time use for me and a damp beauty sponge hails queen with this product, in my opinion. Otherwise – absolutely love the foundation. I did not set the foundation with powder or nor did I add anything else atop the Dream Cushion. I love the dewy and youthful finish. I am unsure how this will last throughout the day with my oily skin – but this foundation is ideal for me for quick and fresh makeup days, brows, and some mascara.
